Trusted Veterinary Care — Wherever You Are
How It Works
1. Book Online
Click “Book Appointment” then schedule a “Telemedicine Appointment” by choosing a time that fits your family’s schedule.
2. Connect Virtually
One of our licensed veterinarians will call you at the scheduled time. Our 20-minute telephone consultations give you enough time to get your questions answered and receive tailored guidance for your pet.
3. Get Professional Care
We’ll listen to your concerns, assess your pet’s symptoms, and guide you with trusted recommendations — just as we would during an in-person visit.
Common Telemedicine Topics
Our veterinarians can help with a wide range of concerns — all without leaving home:
- Minor Health Concerns: Sneezing, coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, or other mild symptoms.
- Behaviour & Training Advice: Sudden anxiety, excessive barking, scratching, or behavioural changes.
- Follow-Up & Ongoing Care: Medication refills or monitoring chronic conditions.
- Nutrition & Wellness Guidance: Weight management, diet recommendations, and general wellness questions.
Limitations and Considerations
While telemedicine offers many conveniences, certain situations still require an in-clinic, hands-on exam. Because dogs and cats cannot tell us exactly how they feel, a physical assessment allows our veterinarians to detect subtle signs of illness, accurately evaluate their health, and provide the most appropriate care for your pet’s needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a virtual vet prescribe medication?
Yes! Our veterinarians can prescribe and refill most medications after a telemedicine visit. Prescriptions can be picked up curbside or, when possible, sent directly to your local pharmacy.
What if an in-clinic visit is needed?
If a veterinarian determines during a telemedicine consultation that an in-clinic exam is necessary — such as for diagnostics, tests, or a hands-on assessment — your telemedicine fee will be applied toward the cost of the in-clinic exam.
When should I book an in-person exam instead?
Some situations require a hands-on exam. If your pet experiences vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding, trauma, difficulty breathing, or other urgent or severe symptoms, an in-person visit is preferred so our veterinarians can provide immediate, thorough care.
Who can use the telemedicine service?
Our telemedicine service is available to pets who have had an in-person visit at our clinic within the past year. We proudly offer online veterinary care to our clients across Toronto, ON, and the Greater Toronto Area, helping our patients stay happy and healthy from home.
